OANA Conference Highlights in Moscow
The 53rd Board Meeting and Conference of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) took place in Moscow, where representatives from member agencies discussed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the media sector. Anadolu Agency’s Editor-in-Chief Yusuf Ozhan addressed the ethical concerns of AI technology and emphasized the importance of accurate reporting in documenting Israeli war crimes.
Mikhail Petrov from TASS stressed the need for news accuracy over speed, while Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung emphasized the importance of journalists providing accurate information for public trust. Akhmad Munir warned against the misuse of AI technology that could undermine public trust in media organizations.
The next OANA meetings will be held in Kuala Lumpur and Russia in 2025 to continue promoting cooperation among member agencies in the Asia-Pacific region.
