US and UK Express Concern About Iran Providing Lethal Weapons to Russia
US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed concern about Iran providing lethal weapons to Russia, as reported by the White House. They reaffirmed support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression and expressed deep concern about Iran, North Korea, and China providing weapons to Russia.
During their meeting at the White House, Biden and Starmer discussed various mutual interests, including support for Israel’s security, the need for a cease-fire in Gaza, and condemnation of Yemen’s Houthi attacks on commercial shipping. They also highlighted cooperation on clean energy, advanced technologies, and economic ties between the US and UK.
The US had previously raised concerns about Iran transferring missiles to Russia, potentially leading to civilian casualties in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia warned of an appropriate response if the US allows Ukraine to use long-range missiles inside Russia.
