As the devastating 11-month-old conflict in Gaza continues to escalate, with over 41,000 mostly civilian killings and more than 92,000 Palestinians injured, the Israelis defy the United States while receiving an uninterrupted flow of heavy weapons from them.
The conflict highlights two key lessons, with Israel being unable to continue biting the hand that feeds it, and the Biden administration realizing it cannot keep feeding the mouth that bites it. The US-supplied weapons used in Gaza are described as weapons of civilian destruction, reducing cities to rubble.
Despite accusations of genocide and war crimes, the US remains the major arms supplier to Israel, fueling the deadly violence against Palestinian civilians. Dr. Ramzy Baroud emphasizes the close relationship between the US and Israel, enabling and emboldening Israel to continue its atrocities.
Antonio Guterres condemned the recent deaths in Gaza, urging accountability and an immediate ceasefire while Dr. Baroud highlights the lack of accountability in US-Israel relations.
