The Hausa community among Alubarika Rice Farmers Cluster in Magboro, Ogun State, refutes claims that the state government has not been supporting them in their rice farming efforts. The leader, Alhaji Bello Zabarmawa, emphasized the crucial role of government support in their success, denying ownership of the rice farm.
Zabarmawa explained that the government provided substantial assistance, covering 50% of costs for tractors, fertilizers, and other essentials. When it came time for harvest, the government facilitated the process, with farmers shouldering only a portion of the expenses.
The Chairman of Alubarika Cluster Farmers, Salam Adelowo, echoed the sentiment, praising the government’s pivotal role in the farmers’ achievements. The service provider, Young Agro Service Enterprise, also affirmed the government’s support and threatened legal action against misinformation.
Overall, the collaboration between the Hausa community, the government, and service providers has been instrumental in facilitating successful rice farming in Ogun State, dispelling rumors of mismanagement and lack of support.
