The Islamic Republic of Iran achieved a significant milestone by successfully launching the research satellite “Chamran-1” into a 550 km orbit using the “Qaem-100” satellite carrier.
Designed and constructed by the Space Group of Iranian Electronics Industries (SAIran) in collaboration with the Aerospace Research Institute and tech companies, the 60-kilogram Chamran-1 satellite aims to test hardware and software systems for orbital maneuvering technology.
Additionally, it will evaluate the cold gas propulsion subsystem and the performance of attitude control and navigation systems.
The successful launch of Chamran-1 highlights the effective partnership between the Iranian government and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force.
Major General Hussein Salami praised the collaboration and congratulated the ministers involved, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to technological advancement on a global scale.
In addition to the satellite launch, Iran unveiled its third-largest observatory in the Sarduiyeh district of Jiroft, South Kerman.
The facility offers advanced telescopic capabilities for day and night observation, allowing for detailed study of celestial bodies and enhancing public knowledge of the universe.
