Recent reports from Lebanese media outlets have disclosed that the IDF conducted airstrikes in two villages situated approximately 100 miles away from the Israeli border. Further strikes were also noted in the Bekaa Valley, about 50 miles from the border.
As per Lebanon’s Health Ministry, four individuals, including three children, were wounded in one of the strikes deep inside Lebanon. The IDF confirmed these attacks, specifically targeting Hezbollah weapons depots in the Bekaa region and the Baalbek district, along with seven other sites in southern Lebanon.
Subsequently, additional strikes were recorded in various southern Lebanese villages, such as Khiam, Shaheen, and Taybeh, marking a total of 11 locations targeted within an hour. The escalation prompted Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem to issue a stern warning against Israeli aggression, emphasizing that any war would lead to severe repercussions.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to intensify strikes in Lebanon to ensure the safe return of northern residents has been met with mixed reactions. While some, like Amit Sofer of the Merom HaGalil Regional Council, cautiously support the strategy, others remain wary of potential implications on hostages held in Gaza.
