Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, recently confirmed a report from Al-Mayadeen TV, citing European security sources, that claimed six drones launched from Lebanon reached the “Ein Shima” military base, resulting in casualties. The report stated that 22 people were killed and 77 were injured at the two bases affected.
Sheikh Qassem raised questions about the swift declaration of the operation as a failure by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the lack of media coverage or access to the site. He emphasized the suspicious security measures and media blackout surrounding the incident, pointing out the absence of updates from Israeli sources since the attack over 20 days ago.
During a ceremony honoring a Hezbollah martyr in Beirut, Sheikh Qassem reiterated Hezbollah’s ongoing support for Gaza and warned that threats against Lebanon will not deter their stance. He highlighted the resignation of the head of Unit 8200, responsible for intelligence at the targeted base, in connection to the operation.
Hezbollah remains committed to supporting Gaza from Lebanon and escalating aid in response to Israeli aggression until the conflict ceases. Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized the safety of northern settlers depends on ending the conflict in Gaza, reaffirming Hezbollah’s unwavering support for Palestine.
