Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) chief Jashimuddin Rahmani, recently released from prison by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, has made provocative statements in a video, seeking support from Pakistan and Afghanistan to “liberate Kashmir.” He also warned India against aligning with former Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and urged West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to declare independence from Modi’s rule, threatening India’s stability.
Rahmani, previously jailed for blogger murder, was paroled in August by the interim Bangladeshi government, sparking concerns for India due to ABT’s ties to al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). His threats to India and Bengal come amidst growing tensions, with mentions of China and potential disruption of India’s northeastern states.
The ABT leader’s support for terror groups like al-Qaida and AQIS, along with calls for Kashmir’s liberation and advocacy for Khalistan, pose a serious security threat to India. Rahmani’s messages to Mamata Banerjee and the public add to ongoing concerns about radical elements within India.
