3-year-old boy missing since February identified as human remains found in Wisconsin

In a heartbreaking discovery, authorities in Wisconsin confirmed that the human remains found on private property belong to Elijah Vue, a 3-year-old boy who went missing in February. Two Rivers Police Chief Benjamin Meinnert expressed the community’s devastation at the tragic outcome, noting how the little boy had brought out the best in everyone.

The skeletal remains were found three miles from where Elijah was reported missing by a deer hunter in a wooded area that had been extensively searched. The investigation has shifted from a missing person case to a death investigation, with the family and community reeling from the loss.

Elijah disappeared from an apartment in Two Rivers, and his mother, Katrina Baur, and the man he was staying with, Jesse Vang, were charged with child neglect. Baur left her son with Vang for disciplinary purposes, but tragedy struck before she could retrieve him.

Despite the heartbreaking outcome, the community is coming together to mourn Elijah’s loss and support his family during this difficult time.
