Tragedy struck in Kuchlak town near Quetta as two policemen were martyred and another injured in a bomb blast targeting officials. The explosives were planted beforehand and detonated upon the arrival of the police vehicle, according to Quetta’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Azhar Rashid. Assistant Sub-Inspector Zainuddin and gunman Mohammad Tahir lost their lives, while the injured driver was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the fallen officers, emphasizing the country’s united stance against terrorism. The recent surge in terrorist attacks in Pakistan has raised concerns, with 59 incidents reported in August alone. Militants associated with the Balochistan Liberation Army carried out multiple assaults, resulting in civilian and security personnel casualties.
