President Yoon Suk-yeol visited emergency medical sites on the eve of Chuseok and emphasized the government’s sincerity in improving medical conditions. He reassured medical professionals that the planned increase in personnel was based on scientific estimates. He also underscored the necessity of medical reforms and urged cooperation from the medical community. President Yoon’s visit aimed to support healthcare workers and address concerns about emergency medical gaps during the upcoming holiday season.

Accompanied by Health Minister Cho Gyu-hong and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, President Yoon acknowledged the challenges faced by medical staff and expressed appreciation for their dedication. He emphasized the need for fair compensation and reforms to support healthcare workers.

During his visit to central emergency medical center in Seoul, President Yoon reflected on the late Yoon Han-deok, a former center director who sacrificed his life to prevent medical gaps during the Lunar New Year in 2019. President Yoon’s engagement with medical practitioners highlighted the importance of addressing issues within the healthcare system to ensure sustainable and effective medical services.
