New Poll Shows Majority of Israelis Support National Unity Government

A recent poll revealed that 56% of Israelis back the formation of a national unity government to secure the return of captives from Gaza and set a date for elections. The survey included 503 respondents, with 41% favoring Netanyahu as the next prime minister and 40% supporting Gantz.

Key Findings:

The National Unity party led by Gantz could win 21 seats in the Knesset, while Netanyahu’s Likud party is projected to secure 24 seats. Currently, Netanyahu’s bloc holds 53 seats compared to 58 for the opposition.

International Condemnation

Israel faces criticism for ignoring a UN resolution demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. The country is on trial for genocide against Palestinians and has caused widespread civilian casualties.

Overall, the situation remains dire in Gaza with severe casualties, displacement, and ongoing conflict.
