Pentagon: Russian Kursk Oblast counterattack ‘marginal’

Russia’s recent counteroffensive in Ukraine’s Kursk Oblast is seen as “marginal” by Pentagon spokesperson Major General Pat Ryder. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have regained control of 10 settlements, which could not be verified by Kyiv Independent.

President Zelensky stated that everything is going according to plan, with Ukrainian forces controlling over 1,300 square kilometers and around 100 settlements in Kursk. The incursion was aimed to divert Russian forces from Donbas and prevent further cross-border attacks.

As Russia attempts to push Ukrainian troops out of Kursk, the need for providing Ukraine with necessary capabilities on the front lines is emphasized by Ryder. While the situation is being monitored closely, Ukraine remains steadfast in its defense. Ukrainian soldiers have reportedly taken over 600 Russian captives and inflicted 6,000 casualties. Stay informed on the ongoing conflict and the efforts towards peace in Ukraine’s Kursk Oblast.
