An arrest has been made in connection with a counterfeit mobile device supply investigation, resulting in a €10 million fraud on a phone company. The suspect, a man in his 40s, was taken into custody in Dublin as part of Operation Shrike led by the Intellectual Property Crime Investigation Unit.

Gardaí have frozen fourteen bank accounts and seized over €143,245 in cash during the operation. The crackdown on counterfeit mobile devices aims to protect consumers and combat fraud in the telecommunications industry.

The swift action by law enforcement demonstrates the seriousness of intellectual property crimes and sends a strong message to those involved in illegal activities. As investigations continue, authorities are working to dismantle criminal networks involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit goods.
