Promising Development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Regularization of NCP Vehicles on the Horizon

The Advisor on Information in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, revealed that the province is eagerly awaiting a response from the Federal Government regarding the regularization of non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles. The proposal, once approved, will kickstart the process of registering NCP vehicles in the province.

Saif emphasized the importance of this initiative, citing instances where NCP vehicles have been linked to terrorist activities. By registering these vehicles, the government aims to enhance security measures and identify owners involved in unlawful activities. Additionally, the registration process is expected to generate substantial revenue for the provincial government.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has already endorsed the suggestions for regularization, which have been submitted to the Center for final approval. The proposal includes the regularization of over 0.2 million NCP vehicles in Merged Districts and Malakand Division, while excluding stolen and tampered vehicles from the process.

The registration fees for NCP vehicles vary based on engine capacity, with tax filers benefiting from lower rates. This development marks a significant step towards ensuring accountability and compliance in the transportation sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
