South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit made changes to his administration by relieving the undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Dams. In a decree announced on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), Engineer Tom Remis John Pitia was replaced by Lam Tungwar Kenjuong, a former child soldier turned musician turned politician.
Lam Tungwar Kenjuong, who had previously served in ministerial roles in Unity State, including as the Minister of Lands, Housing, and Public Utilities, has now been appointed to this new position. The reasons behind these changes have not been made public, leaving many to speculate on the motive behind President Kiir’s decision.
