Recent reports confirm that around 20 missiles were launched at Safed in northern Israel by Hezbollah, with most being intercepted or landing in unpopulated areas. Luckily, no injuries have been reported, but there has been minor damage to a building in the town of Dalton.
Firefighters are currently on the scene, trying to extinguish a fire near Biry caused by one of the missile strikes. Additionally, sirens are sounding in nearby communities as a precaution for falling interceptor debris.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was in retaliation for an Israeli strike in Kafr Joz. The targeted air defense base was 12 kilometers from the border, and the attack was carried out using Katyusha rockets.
After putting in several hours of effort, firefighters successfully contained the fire in the Birya forest which had been ignited by the rocket attack.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing situation.
