The Anambra State Police Command has made significant progress in combating crime by arresting eight suspects involved in various criminal activities such as kidnapping, cultism, illegal possession of firearms, and armed robbery. The arrests were made following a technology-driven investigation by joint security operatives across the state.
The suspects were found in possession of a long gun, a locally made Barreta, ammunition, and a suspected stolen vehicle. Among the arrested individuals, two confessed to their involvement in a reported kidnapping case in Ihiala LGA, while five others were apprehended for vandalism of electricity cables. These suspects provided crucial information to aid ongoing police investigations.
Additionally, Special Anti-Cultism Squad operatives intercepted a member of the Black Axe Secret Cult who was found with a concealed Beretta pistol and live ammunition. The suspect, along with all other individuals, will face charges in court following the completion of the investigation.
