Zelensky denounces Chinese Brazilian peace plan as “destructive” and lacking respect for Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy rejects the Chinese-Brazilian peace initiative for the war in Ukraine, calling it “destructive” and criticizing the lack of involvement from Kyiv. Zelenskiy emphasized the initiative’s disrespect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and demanded that Russian President Vladimir Putin take steps towards ending the conflict.

China and Brazil proposed an international peace conference with equal participation from Russia and Ukraine, but Zelenskiy dismissed it as merely a political statement. Despite his willingness to discuss the proposals, Zelenskiy criticized the lack of consultation with Ukraine.

While Putin supported the Chinese peace proposals, Zelenskiy’s own plan includes the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine and holding Russia accountable for its actions. The United States criticized China’s mediation efforts for aligning with Russia’s false narrative.

Zelenskiy’s strong stance underscores Ukraine’s determination to protect its sovereignty and seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict. As tensions continue, Zelenskiy remains firm in his push for justice and stability in the region.
