President Putin Warns Western Support for Kiev Could Lead to War with Russia

President Vladimir Putin issued a warning, stating that if the West provides Kiev with longer-range weapons to strike Russian targets, it would amount to NATO being “at war” with Russia. He made these comments as US and UK diplomats discussed relaxing rules on firing Western weapons into Russia, a request that Kiev has been pushing for over two and a half years into the conflict.

Putin emphasized that such support would change the nature of the conflict and have severe implications. He stated that NATO countries and Russia would be directly involved in a military conflict. As Kiev seeks more powerful weapons with fewer restrictions, Russia continues its advance into eastern Ukraine.

Recent reports suggest Russian forces have regained control of areas in Kursk, previously held by Ukrainian troops. Major General Apti Alaudinov announced the liberation of 10 settlements in the Kursk region. A significant counteroffensive by Russian forces has pushed Ukrainian troops back east, marking a pivotal development in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
