Turkey is preparing to receive the body of Turkish American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was tragically killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank during a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with Palestinians. The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced that the procedures for transferring Eygi’s body have been completed and it will arrive in Turkey on Friday.
The Ministry expressed condolences to Eygi’s family and condemned the actions of the “genocidal Netanyahu Government” for her murder. Turkey vows to seek justice and ensure that those responsible for her death are held accountable.
Eygi, a 26-year-old dual citizen, lost her life on September 6 while protesting against illegal Israeli settlements in Beita, outside of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. Turkey mourns her loss and stands firm in seeking justice for this senseless act of violence.
