George G. Lombardi, former President Donald Trump’s senior advisor, recently discussed the strong bond between Morocco and the United States in an interview with Atalayar. With decades of experience in business and politics, Lombardi believes this relationship will continue to thrive if Trump wins the upcoming election.
Lombardi highlighted Trump’s positive relationship with King Mohammed VI and their shared interests in peace and economic development. He also suggested that Trump could play a vital role in mediating the Sahara conflict by bringing Algeria and the Polisario Front to the negotiating table.
Despite challenges in France and Spain’s involvement in the conflict, Lombardi remains hopeful that the U.S., Italy, and other European countries can lead efforts towards a resolution. He also mentioned the potential benefits for Morocco if Trump’s policies were reinstated, such as establishing a U.S. consulate in Dakhla and reaffirming American support for Moroccan sovereignty in the Sahara.
