Spouse of Malaysian PM criticizes Israeli ‘educide’ in Gaza

Lost Generations: The Plight of Education in War-Torn Gaza

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has left nearly 625,000 children without access to education for a second year. With almost 90% of Gaza’s schools intentionally destroyed, activists warn of creating lost generations. Veteran Malaysian politician Wan Azizah Wan Ismail labeled this act of targeting schools as “educide” and blamed international powers for their support of Israel.

‘Pick up the pieces’

Malaysia is aiding Palestinians, providing medical care and scholarships for education. Wan Azizah praised the level of Palestinian education and urged unity for their cause. Recognizing the Turkish-Malaysian bond, she emphasized the importance of helping those in need and standing up against aggression.

‘Türkiye-Malaysia ties counterbalance world powers’

Commending Türkiye and Malaysia’s strong relations, Wan Azizah highlighted the importance of unity in the face of adversity. She stressed the need for global awareness and action to end the atrocities in Gaza and halt Israel’s genocidal war.

“These are your fellow brothers, sisters and children. So If I had my way I would do that (stop the war). We have to have a voice and it has to be in unity. To say that look for the sake of humanity stop this,” Wan Azizah concluded after a poignant review of evidence showcasing the harsh realities faced by Gazans.
