Six Indian nationals are set to be released from serving in the Russian army after being sent back from the front lines of the war in Ukraine. Families confirmed their release and are awaiting clearance to fly home to India. Almost 100 Indian men, lured into serving with the Russian military, are now being repatriated after facing deceptive promises of safe, secure jobs. The men, including Azad Yousuf Kumar and Mohammad Sufiyan, were relieved from duty and are eager to return home. Kumar, who was tricked into serving after being promised a job in Dubai, expressed relief at the prospect of reuniting with his newborn son. The Indian government faced pressure to secure their release, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising the issue during a visit to Moscow. Other families, like that of Sameer Ahmad, are also celebrating the imminent return of their loved ones. Efforts from individuals like Raja Pathan and MP Asaduddin Owaisi played a key role in assisting with their release. The Indian government has indicated more individuals will be repatriated in the coming days, fulfilling a promise made by Russia to release all Indian citizens serving in their army.
