Exciting news from Ondo State as the government announces a partnership with the Federal Housing Authority to construct 1,000 housing units across the state. Mr. Akinwumi Sowore, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, revealed this during a media parley in Akure organized by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Wale Akinlosotu.
Sowore emphasized the ministry’s commitment to addressing housing issues by focusing on construction, upgrade, and maintenance of public buildings to global standards. Additionally, 100 hectares of land have been allocated for the housing units in Akure, Ikare, Ore, and Ugbo.
In other developments, Dr. Banji Ajaka, Commissioner for Health, shared that the Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS) will benefit 4,000 people in the state’s informal sector. The scheme aims to provide health coverage to artisans, market women, farmers, and more.
Furthermore, Prof. Simi Odimayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, highlighted the ministry’s efforts in distributing free drugs, upgrading entry points for health professionals, and ensuring hazard allowances for health workers.
