China Calls for Political Solution in Sudan Conflict

A Chinese envoy has called on the UN Security Council to intensify efforts towards a political resolution in Sudan. Dai Bing, China’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, emphasized the need for dialogue between conflicting parties to prevent the humanitarian crisis from escalating further.

With the conflict in Sudan persisting for over eighteen months, and millions of civilians facing hardships, Dai stressed the necessity of enforcing sanctions to control the flow of weapons and stabilize the situation. He reiterated the importance of upholding international humanitarian law and safeguarding civilians.

China’s vote in favor of the draft resolution reflects the commitment to supporting Sudan in achieving lasting peace. Dai emphasized that sanctions should not replace diplomacy but should be used as a tool to facilitate peaceful negotiations.
