중국산 CCTV 군 보안 우려 10년 동안 무시

The South Korean Ministry of National Defense recently revealed that all 1,300 surveillance and border control closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) installed at frontline military bases have been removed. Originally believed to be domestically produced, it was discovered that the CCTVs were actually Chinese-made, prompting concerns about security risks. The Ministry has since reinstalled 100 domestically produced CCTVs, with plans to gradually replace the remaining 1,200 units. The deceptive supplier is now being targeted for legal action.

The decision to replace the CCTVs was made after learning about their true origin back in July. Some of the CCTVs were placed near the military demarcation line for border surveillance purposes. The Ministry had initially spent over 30 billion won on the Chinese-made CCTVs, but now aims to fully transition to domestically produced units. As the replacement process continues, the Ministry is committed to ensuring national security and upholding the integrity of its military equipment procurement processes.
