Syrian-Russian talks aim to enhance agricultural cooperation relations

Enhancing Agricultural Cooperation Between Syria and Russia

The Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Eng. Mohammad Hassan Qatana, met with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Russian Embassy in Damascus, Yevgeny Kozlov, to discuss the current cooperation between Syria and Russia in agriculture. They emphasized the need to further develop ties and exchange products for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Minister Qatana highlighted the strong historical relations between Syria and Russia, especially in the economic sector. He expressed readiness for various forms of cooperation to advance economic relations, particularly in agriculture. The Minister also emphasized the importance of agreeing on agricultural quarantine systems, standardizing health certificates, and enhancing plant and veterinary laboratories.

On the other hand, Kozlov emphasized the importance of increasing production and exchanging products between the two countries. He stressed the need for regular meetings between technicians to address challenges and introduce new developments in the agricultural sector.

This meeting signifies a positive step towards enhancing agricultural cooperation between Syria and Russia, ultimately aiming to boost productivity and overcome obstacles in the field.
