Russia conducts largest naval drills in decades.

Russia has launched its largest naval drills in modern history, named ‘Ocean-2024’, with President Vladimir Putin overseeing the exercise. Taking place simultaneously in various oceans and seas, including the Pacific and Arctic, the drills involve over 400 vessels, submarines, aircraft, and more than 90,000 personnel to test combat readiness and interoperability.

The exercises will feature simulated launches of high-precision weapons, drawing on experience from ongoing conflicts. The Chinese military is participating with four vessels and 15 aircraft, along with representatives from 15 other nations as observers.

Putin emphasized the importance of strengthening military cooperation with friendly nations amid growing geopolitical tensions, criticizing the US for seeking global dominance at the cost of provoking an arms race. The Russian leader highlighted the need for readiness against any scenario to safeguard national interests and sovereignty.
