Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Health Minister Adonis Georgiaidis discussed plans to reduce waiting times for surgeries during a meeting at the Maximos Mansion. The government is focusing on upgrading the National Health System (ESY) to provide expedited solutions to citizens.
Aiming to address long waiting times at duty hospitals, the officials are working on a plan to streamline processes. Additionally, there’s a proposal for 37,500 free afternoon surgeries, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund, awaiting approval from the European Commission.
Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of reducing surgery waiting lists, starting with the oldest cases. The government’s commitment to improving healthcare access for over 30,000 citizens underscores their dedication to enhancing the overall healthcare system in Greece.
