Israeli Air Strike Kills 14 Palestinians at School in Gaza
Israeli military forces have attacked another school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip’s Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 14 people, with many still trapped under the rubble, officials say.
Mahmud Bassal, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense agency said several women and children were among the victims of the attack on the Al-Jawni school in central Gaza.
Two staff of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) were also among those killed. Al-Jawni was sheltering about 5,000 displaced people when it was hit, according to Gaza’s media office.
The school has been hit at least five times in more than 11 months of war, Bassal said.
UNRWA transformed its schools into emergency shelters for families forced to flee their homes due to Israel’s offensive on Gaza, displacing a majority of Gaza’s population. The regime’s military forces have killed over 41,000 Palestinians in the ongoing conflict.
