ECC prioritizes industrial sector for gas usage in 80 characters

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) recently made significant decisions that will have a positive impact on various sectors in Pakistan. One of the key approvals was the proposal to prioritize gas use for industrial processes alongside domestic and commercial sectors. This decision is aimed at benefiting industries that rely on gas for their operations by ensuring they have access to a stable supply.

Additionally, the ECC greenlighted the procurement of civil works for the Kalkatak-Chitral 48 km Road Project and allocated funds for clearing arrears of wheat subsidy schemes. The committee also discussed the possibility of providing a loan to the Pakistan Central Cotton Committee to cover expenses, but decided to consider winding up the organization instead.

Overall, the ECC’s decisions reflect a proactive approach to addressing critical issues and fostering growth in key sectors. By prioritizing industrial gas use and streamlining procurement processes, the committee is setting the stage for a more efficient and sustainable economic environment in Pakistan.
