Political Leaders Unite to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary
US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, and Senator JD Vance set aside political differences to honor the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks. They gathered at Ground Zero in Manhattan for a solemn ceremony.
All four leaders attended the event in New York, with Trump and Harris even shaking hands after their first in-person meeting at a presidential debate the night before. Biden and Harris are scheduled to continue their commemorations with visits to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon in Virginia.
Last year, Biden marked the occasion differently, but this year, all eyes are on the unity displayed by these leaders as they remember the nearly 3000 lives lost in the tragic attacks. Despite past contentious campaign cycles, this year is marked by a sense of respect and remembrance on this solemn day.
