Armenia commends Iran’s positive role in South Caucasus
The first round of the 2024 Yerevan Dialogue Forum saw Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami meeting with Ararat Mirzoyan, discussing bilateral cooperation and regional developments. Mirzoyan expressed hope for a meeting with his Iranian counterpart soon, emphasizing cooperation in areas like education.
Sheikholeslami conveyed Iran’s commitment to maintaining friendly relations with Armenia and highlighted recent diplomatic exchanges between the two countries. At the forum, he reiterated Iran’s stance on preserving borders in the South Caucasus and supporting peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Highlighting Iran’s stabilizing role in the region, Sheikholeslami stressed the importance of sovereignty and territorial integrity in the South Caucasus. He called for the swift resolution of conflicts and the removal of barriers to regional cooperation and connectivity.
