Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is calling on the international community to take concrete steps to stop the persecution of Serbs in Kosovo. After four young Serb men were arrested in Kosovo for insulting police officers while intoxicated, Vučić expressed his concerns and promised to address the public with Serbia’s demands within 72 hours.
Vučić believes that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is seeking the destruction and persecution of the Serbian people in Kosovo. The recent arrests have highlighted tensions between Pristina and Belgrade, leading to a standstill in dialogue and the closure of Serbian institutions in northern Kosovo.
Despite previous agreements and international support for a plan for Kosovo, the two sides have not yet reached a solution, fueling ongoing tensions. The European Union envoy, Miroslav Lajčak, is working to facilitate discussions and address key issues, such as the opening of the bridge in Mitrovica.
As Serbia continues to advocate for the rights of Serbs in Kosovo, the international community plays a crucial role in resolving the conflict and preventing further violence in the region.
