An informed source revealed to Tasnim news agency that Iraqi-based terrorists are retreating from areas near the border with Iran. This move comes in response to the Iranian government’s request and collaboration with various security and political organizations in Iran and Iraq.
Amid calls from Kurdish communities in Iran and Iraq, these hostile groups are being disarmed and relocated from their bases along the border. These groups have been involved in activities such as ransom taking, assassinations, and the recruitment of child soldiers, along with plotting against Iran with the Zionist regime.
As part of a security agreement signed between Tehran and Baghdad in March 2023, anti-Iranian Kurdish groups are being disarmed and relocated deeper into the Iraqi Kurdistan Region under the supervision of the Iraqi government.
This coordinated effort aims to ensure sustainable security along the common border between Iran and Iraq, with the Iraqi government committed to disarming and relocating any terrorist or separatist groups operating in the region.
