1,500 participants from Nigeria and Ghana recently underwent professional training in academic writing and research publication conducted by the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). The six-month program, facilitated by the University Centre for Continuing Professional Education, aimed to enhance skills in academic writing, research publication, and entrepreneurial journalism.
Dr. Muhammad Mustapha spearheaded the project, partnering with scholars from RUDN University and other institutions to deliver training sessions in various cities across the two countries. The first phase catered to 880 trainees, with the second phase attracting a substantial number of participants in Nigeria, including 120 in Lagos, 110 in Kaduna, 100 in Zaria, 80 in Abuja, and 210 in Kwara.
Looking ahead, RUDN University plans to launch a six-month online diploma program in Policy Communication and Law Enforcement Communication, focusing on public relations and media. Additionally, collaboration with Nigeria’s Kwara State Government will provide training in Community Reporting for Community Development to 50 local representatives.
Overall, the initiative reflects RUDN University’s commitment to empowering African professionals with relevant skills and knowledge for success in a globally competitive environment.
