By equating the Israeli leaders who are combating Hamas terrorism within the boundaries of international law to a war criminal like Sinwar, the prosecutor’s remarks were deemed highly offensive.
The statement further criticized the bias and lack of legal foundation in the proceedings at The Hague, expressing disappointment with the seemingly political agenda driving the case. The Israeli government vehemently rejected the comparison and stood firm in its stance against terrorism.
