New measures to primarily benefit civil servants, pensioners and the vulnerable.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced new salary increase measures at the Thessaloniki International Fair, benefiting state employees, pensioners, and special wage earners. Private sector employees will also see small increases due to reductions in social security contributions.

Costing 1.45 billion euros for 2025, the measures include tax and social security reductions of €900 million, income increases of €550 million, and €243 million in assistance for the weakest. The total spending increase in 2025 will be €3.8 billion, with additional finances from taxes and an extraordinary levy on refinery profits.

The salary increase measures will see pensioners getting a 2.2-2.5% raise, civil servants aligning with the private sector minimum wage, and night shift workers receiving a 20% increase. Incentives will be given to doctors in remote areas, and 1.9 million vulnerable households will be supported with €243 million by 2023.
