In a recent poll conducted by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Green Party candidate Jill Stein has emerged as the front-runner among Muslim-American voters in key swing states, surpassing Vice President Kamala Harris in states like Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
Despite criticisms of the Biden administration’s handling of issues like the Gaza conflict, 29.4% of respondents still favor the Democratic Party, while 29.1% are in support of Jill Stein, known for her staunch stance on ending the war in Gaza.
A significant number of Muslim-American voters remain undecided (16.5%), with a lesser percentage supporting former President Donald Trump. CAIR notes a margin of error of +/- 2.95 percentage points in the results of the survey.
The survey highlights a shifting trend among Muslim voters, with Stein leading in crucial swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin. Kamala Harris maintains a lead in other states and among younger Muslim voters.
This unprecedented support for Jill Stein signifies a growing disillusionment with mainstream politics and a rising focus on foreign policy issues, particularly related to the Middle East.
