The Palestinian Hamas condemns Israeli attack on displaced people as “brutal act of genocide”
Hamas strongly denounced the Israeli attack on displaced people in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis as a “brutal act of genocide.” The group called the massacre a vicious targeting of unarmed civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, in an area previously declared safe by the occupation army. Hamas dismissed Israeli army’s claims of resistance fighters in the area as lies.
The resistance movement urged the international community to take action to stop the ongoing holocaust and hold Israeli war criminals accountable. Palestinian media reports at least 40 people killed and 60 injured in the attack, which involved heavy missiles and left deep craters in the area where people were living in tents.
Witnesses described chaotic scenes with fires burning and Israeli planes overhead. Since the start of the onslaught in October last year, over 40,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, with nearly 95,000 others injured.
