In response to the flooding at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maiduguri, the Federal Government has taken action to ensure the safe transfer of inmates. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) is working diligently to address the impact of the flooding, caused by the overflow and collapse of the Alau Dam in Konduga Local Government Area.
The NCoS is dedicated to public safety, evacuating inmates to safer facilities and collaborating with security agencies for support. Despite initial reports, officers are working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and secure transfer process. The support and guidance from the Presidency and Vice President has been appreciated, assuring the public that the NCoS is committed to maintaining order and public safety during this challenging time.
