Turkey denounces Israeli army killing of Turkish-American activist in West Bank.

Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was tragically killed by Israeli forces in Nablus, West Bank, during a protest against illegal settlements. The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned this act of violence and expressed condolences to Eygi’s family.

The ministry criticized the Netanyahu government for the murder and stated that Israel’s policy of violence will not prevail. They vowed that Israeli authorities will be held accountable before international courts.

Eygi, who held dual Turkish and American citizenship, was born in Antalya in 1998. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head at Rafidia Hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers fired on Palestinians protesting illegal settlements.

The victim was known for her work with the Fazaa campaign, supporting Palestinian farmers against Israeli violations. Beita residents regularly protest the illegal Avitar settlement. Tensions in the West Bank have escalated, leading to numerous Palestinian casualties.
