Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reinforced his directive prohibiting government ministers from visiting the Temple Mount without his prior approval during the upcoming holiday period, as announced by the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday night.
Amid concerns over potential visits to the Temple Mount during the holidays, Netanyahu made it clear during a Cabinet meeting that there will be no changes to the status quo regarding the holy site. He emphasized that government ministers should not visit the Temple Mount without obtaining his permission through his military secretary.
This decision aims to maintain stability and avoid potential escalation of tensions in the region. Netanyahu’s strict directive reflects the importance of respecting the delicate balance surrounding the Temple Mount, a site of significant religious and political significance for both Jews and Muslims.
By setting clear guidelines for government officials, Netanyahu is taking proactive measures to ensure the peace and security of the area during the holiday season.
