China voices displeasure over Netherlands’ expanded chip export restrictions
The Chinese Commerce Ministry expressed dissatisfaction on Sunday over the Netherlands’ decision to further restrict exports from computer chip equipment supplier ASML to China. Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the Dutch government proceeded with the expansion of restrictions, sparking criticism from Beijing.
A spokesperson for the ministry accused the United States of pressuring the Netherlands to adopt these measures in order to maintain its global technological dominance. China argues that such actions disrupt global semiconductor supply chains and violate the legitimate rights of Chinese companies.
China called on the Dutch government to refrain from abusing export control regimes and instead focus on protecting the mutual interests of both countries and their companies. This move is crucial for maintaining stability in global industrial and supply chains.
