Algerian President Abdulmadjid Tebboune won the election with 95% of the vote, amid allegations of irregularities and low voter turnout. Rival candidate Abdelaali Hassani Cherif contested the results, claiming manipulation in the counting process. Despite facing minimal opposition from moderate candidates, Tebboune’s victory with military backing has sparked controversy.

Hassani Cherif’s campaign accused polling station officials of inflating results and mishandling voting records. However, electoral commission head Mohammed Charfi emphasized transparency and fairness in the election process. Tebboune’s re-election is expected to continue Algeria’s economic agenda with increased social spending.

While the government plans to boost unemployment benefits and housing programs, challenges remain with high inflation and unemployment rates. The country’s role in regional politics and foreign relations, along with economic reforms, will shape Tebboune’s next term as president.
