Renowned Bosnian Academic Slavo Kukic Passes Away

Today, the Bosnian academic and sociologist Slavo Kukić passed away at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of scholarly work. Born in Posušje in 1954, Kukić was a prolific author, with 18 books to his name, including textbooks and studies on Bosnian society.

Throughout his career, Kukić held various positions in education and politics, from teaching at secondary schools to serving as the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011. He was also actively involved in the development of local self-government and published over 130 scientific and professional works in multiple languages.

Recognized for his expertise, Kukić became a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012, later becoming a regular member in 2018.

His contributions to sociology, political science, and economics have left a lasting impact on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s social and economic life. Slavo Kukić’s dedication to academia and his commitment to research will be remembered for years to come.
