Olubadan Elevates Chiefs in Ibadan Balogun Line
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, recently elevated five chiefs in the Ibadan Balogun line at a ceremony in the new Olubadan Palace. The chiefs, including Samuel Adegboyega Adeniran and Taiwo Anthony Adebayo Oyekan, were adorned with Akoko leaves by the Oluwo of Ibadanland.
During the ceremony, Olakulehin urged the chiefs to contribute to the progress and unity of Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large. He emphasized the preservation of Yoruba culture and the improvement of residents’ quality of life.
The event was attended by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Mogajis, Baales, political office holders, and religious leaders. The Nigeria Customs Service also visited the Olubadan to strengthen collaboration in promoting peace, security, and economic growth.
The Customs Area Controller highlighted the traditional institution’s role in curbing smuggling and supporting legitimate trade. In response, the Olubadan praised the Customs for safeguarding the nation’s economic interests and pledged continued support for their efforts.
