The Western governments’ unwavering support for Israeli atrocities against Palestinians has inadvertently fueled regional resistance, according to scholar Amal Saad.
Specializing in the affairs of the regional Axis of Resistance, Saad highlighted on social media the unintended consequences of Western backing for Israel’s aggressive actions.
She noted that instead of ensuring Israel’s longevity, this support has galvanized a powerful resistance movement in the Middle East. The solidarity among resistance groups has strengthened their military capabilities and expanded their regional influence.
Recent Western support for Israeli attacks on Gaza and the West Bank has only intensified the resolve of Palestinian resistance movements. Groups in Gaza and the West Bank have faced the aggression head-on, while allies in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen have conducted operations in solidarity with the Palestinians.
Ultimately, Saad concluded that the Western-backed aggression has shifted the regional power dynamic, potentially jeopardizing Israel’s long-term existence as a settler-colonial entity.
