In a recent development, members of the Ministry of the Interior of the Sarajevo Canton have arrested one of the leaders of the Skaljar clan, Ognjen Orašanin, in the Sarajevo settlement of Otoka. Orašanin, for whom an Interpol warrant was issued, was found in an apartment in Otoka and has since been handed over to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Orašanin, who has been on the run for several years, faces charges of organized crime by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. It has also been revealed that he was located in the apartment by the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The circumstances of Orašanin’s entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently under investigation. His name also surfaced in a report by the MUP of the Republika Srpska in 2022, when several individuals were arrested for drug smuggling and money laundering in the areas of Sokolac and Sarajevo.
